For over three decades, Make-A-Wish has been granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses worldwide. The impact of a wish goes beyond a single moment—it creates hope, joy, and strength for both the children and their families.


In 2024, Make-A-Wish Indonesia was officially established, expanding this mission to bring hope to children in Indonesia. To support this, they needed a new digital presence—one that would introduce their work, inspire trust, and encourage participation.


This case study explores how we crafted a website that not only tells their story but also helps them reach and impact more lives.

Before jumping into design, we needed to deeply understand Make-A-Wish’s core messaging and storytelling approach.

✨ Final Core Message: “We are branching fresh to bring new hope for children in Indonesia.”

Initially, our storytelling approach focused heavily on the difficulties faced by children with critical illnesses. However, feedback revealed that this made the experience feel too heavy and emotional, potentially discouraging engagement.

✔ Shifted from a problem-focused narrative to an impact-driven one.
Balanced realism with optimism, ensuring the content felt hopeful and uplifting.
✔ Incorporated more real photography to show authentic moments of joy.

The website launch was just the beginning. I had the privilege of attending the Make-A-Wish Indonesia inauguration, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of our work.


One of the most touching moments was hearing testimonies from mothers whose children had received wishes. Their words reinforced how much a single wish can mean—not just to the child, but to the entire family.
